App Review – Football Manager 2010
Price – £6.99

Well anyone that is into football will straight off know all about the football manager series, for those of you that dont this is the god of football management games. After getting past the expensive price tag I get to grips with it and get stuck in, if its anything like the PC version then I will be loosing some serious hours in my life!

The layout is simple but still sticks to the traditional football manager layout, the menus have been changed to boxes you have to touch which I suppose is a must have for the iPhone. The news screen is absolutely identical to the PC version and it responds very quickly to any input on the iPhone, one thing that did dissapoint me with the news aspect was the inability to select the players names and view that player. Much like if it is news about a particular club you cant just click the clubs name and go straight to their screen.

The match engine is fantastic, commentary is fantastic, simple football manager style. This part really impressed me as it flows very nicely and has great detail. I found it awkward picking my team before the match as so many names crammed onto one screen and I kept dropping the position on the wrong player.

The loading times are great for the amount of detail this game consists of, it has around 20,000 players, 11 countries, 34 leagues, and they are all controllable or viewable.

Overall I am impressed with the game as I did not expect it to be so much like its bigger brother on the PC. The problems are very minor which can be fixed with updates, and hopefully they add the ability to listen to music while playing the game. I definitely think is worth the 6.99 its up for even without the massive depth that the PC version has for things like tactics editing…. Any football manager fan will love it as I did :D

Football Manager 2010 on the move, for me it doesn’t get much better!
