Steam Finally Coming to iOS

Thats right be very excited if you game alot on the PC, Steam is coming to iOS! It is currently in a closed BETA stage but I have heard of quite a few people getting access to this BETA which allows you to browse the online store and also chat to friends. One of the key features is to keep track of sales so you can see what has had a massive price drop. Hopefully it will not remain in the closed BETA stage for to long and will be available to all of us very very soon

It does make me think, could we possibly see a Steam iOS store in the future?

How To Jailbreak iPhone 4s & iPad 2 On 5.0.1 Untethered

Finally it is here, the jailbreak for A5 5.0.1 devices that we have been waiting for all this time! I done this jailbreak personally yesturday on my iPhone 4s and came accross a few problems but all were solved and now the jailbreak is working perfectly. I’m going to guide you through a few steps but before I do please read below

READ ME FIRST
T~~his is for Mac computers only at the minute as the Windows version is currently in progress~~ Windows Download Now Availible Here
Back Up you iPhone or iPad with iCloud (in settings>icloud) or iTunes. This is very important as it has the possibility to lose items, I somehow managed to lose all my photos but I backed them up
We do not take any responsibility for what you do on your iPhone we are simply guiding you the process I followed

untethered jailbreak for the following devices and firmwares:

iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)
iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1

Step 1
Download and Install Absinthe for Mac

Step 2
Remove your keylock if you have one, Connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer via your USB cable and open up Absinthe

Step 3
Wait for Absinthe to come up with the iPhone or iPad details
Now before you press jailbreak make sure you have backed everything up, unlock your iPhone or iPad so you are on the home screen
Now hit Jailbreak…. It will come up “beginning jailbreak, this may take a while” and believe me it wil take some time, when I first done this it crashed and stayed on this for around 30 mins. If the same happens to you close absinthe and begin again.
If it goes past the beginnning jailbreak stage then you will come onto the “restoring in progress” it is very important you do not use or unplug your phone at this stage as it is restoring your device with a jailbroken firmware.

Step 4
Once Absinthe tells you it has completed and your device has finished go onto the home screen and there should be an icon saying Absinthe. Hit the Absinthe icon and it will then open a page and restart your iPhone or iPad (If you get stuck on a white screen press the home button, go into settings and turn on VPN, wait for your device to turn off and turn back on and now try pressing the absinthe icon again). Once restarted you should now have the Cydia icon instead of the Absinthe icon and a jailbroken device

Troubleshooting:

Remain patient, this is not the quickest jailbreak and some phones with lots of app and photos can take upto 45 minutes

If stuck on the white screen re-read step 4 and turn on VPN and wait for the device to reboot

Never disconnect the device until you are 100% sure it has finished and Absinthe has told you it has completed

If it still does not work restore your device through iTunes or iCloud and start again, I myself had to do this and I cant stress enough how important it is to back your device up first!

It is probably the biggest jailbreak yet with the whole blogging world waiting for the first un-tethered 5.0.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4s, the video above shows the iPhone 4s being rebooted and the jailbreak still being on the iPhone. Unlike current tethered releases where once they are turned off and then back on your jailbreak is lost and the process has to be carried out again.

We still have no date on a release but with the appearance of this video I should hope and expect to see this release very very soon

App Review – SnapSeed

Some of you may already have Snapseed and may have been able to get it free when it was promoted on 12 days of christmas but if you havent and you are into photography I really cannot recommend this app enough, it is absolutely fantastic. Now if you are like me and into your photography but find alot of the apps to complicated to use or even some to basic to use then this is the app for you. It has great options from the beginner to the intermediate to the advanced.

I personally struggle with Photography apps but I was soon editing photo’s on my iPhone with ease and transforming them into great almost professional looking pictures and especially with the iPhone 4S camera some come out truely amazing. Here are some examples

I think they look pretty impressive if I do say so myself! If you have an iPad the App is also available for you and is even more impressive as you have more space to get even more creative! Maybe you can start sending in some of your images and maybe we will start an iPhone photography update much like we do auto corrects…… hmmm there’s an idea!

Call Of Duty Elite App Hits App Store

Some of you may have noticed that yesturday the Call Of Duty elite iOS app hit the app store and has straight away gone into the top of the app store. For those of you who dont know what Call of Duty Elite is, its just a COD add on which gives you stats galore and the option to change your create a class on the go! It is free to sign up to and there is also an upgrade option which will include all future 20 updates of downloadable content for PS3 and Xbox. So it may be something worth considering

iPad In Space Free Falls 100,000 Feet And Survives

Infinity Blade Developers Announce Earnings of $30 Million

If you own one of the newer generation of iDevices then you probably know all about Infinity Blade, well if you dont I suggest you check the video out as it one of the most beautiful iOS games ever released. Its a simple block and attack game but it was the break through graphics that made it! Today Epic Games announced that since released this one game has earned them $30 million via the App store alone, this means that Apple themselves have earned $9 million dollars for just approving it which is not bad going if you ask me.

Epic Games, Inc. and its award-winning Salt Lake City-based development studio, ChAIR Entertainment, today announced that earnings from ChAIR’s blockbuster Infinity Blade video game franchise have eclipsed $30 million in just one year since the introduction of the original game. One of the most popular gaming franchises to be launched on the App Store, the award-winning series has also created significant licensing interest in the underlying Unreal Engine 3 technology from developers worldwide.

It still makes me wonder though how much Angry Birds has amassed in earnings as I bet that we could easily put another zero on the end of the $30 million for them

Apple To Show English Premier League Football ?

In a news story from the Daily Mail reports claim that Apple is going to bid on the TV right for the English Premier League. Now if you are from England you know how massive it is over here and how many people subscribe to Sky Sports just for this reason but if Apple come up with the money then Sky could be in big trouble. Sky at the moment reportedy pay around £2.5 billion for these football rights.

This wouldnt be a first for Apple as in America I believe they show alot of NHL and NBA through subscription only platform which I think is a great idea personally. My main thought on the subject is this Apple lining up subscriptions and shows for a future coming Apple HDTV that we keep hearing rumours for!
