App Review – Streets Of Rage

Streets Of Rage £1.79

The Sega Megadrive and arcade classic is back and I feel like this game never gets old. It is absolutely spot on how it use to be, the music the sounds effects and the graphics and with a bonus they come with no loading times!

if you havent ever played streets of rage then the basic idea of the game is to get through the level while multiple enemies try to stop you, you have basic buttons with a kick/punch button a jump button and a special button. When tapping the kick/puch button you perform combo’s and if you combine it with jump sometimes you can throw people. on your way through the levels you will find enemies with weapons such as knives, baseball bats, and large pipes.

App Review – Brothers In Arms 2 Global Front

App Review – Brothers In Arms 2

This is the second in the series on the iPhone and to be honest I didnt bother with the first one, I thought I better give this one a try as the screen shots appear quite impressive. First impressions of the game was it took an eternity to download at a whopping 200mb but i got there in the end. The game is presented very well with easy laid out menu’s and you start with a quick tutorial on the controls.

I found the controls…… ok…… i suppose. I mean I dont know in all honesty if the iPhone is cut out to be used for a first person shooter, at times i find it very unresponsive and my hands are in the way when im trying to drag the aim to where i want it. One nice touch is that the cross-hair does auto aim somewhat which makes it easier to play. When it gets a bit hectic with multiple enemies it becomes a bit of a struggle, although this is taken into account and they hardly ever hit you with damage, all i saw was my partner taking lots of damage.

The graphics are very impressive, every time a new big name game comes out it does impress me with what they are getting out of the iPhone. There is very little slow down when there is multiple enemies, the hud is nicely laid out with easy buttons decently spaced from each other. It has parts which sometimes make you forget your playing on an iPhone, like the camera will switch to a plane overhead going over and crashing, although this is let down as sometimes you struggle to see it due to the control system

My conclusion to this is that at £4.99 it is quite an expensive app which looks absolutely fantastic, it plays tons better than any other first person shooters on the iPhone do. My main let down, I don’t think the iPhone is cut out for first persons as the controls struggle to keep up with game

App Review – Call Of Duty Cheats FREE

App Review – Call Of Duty Cheats FREE

Well at the minute anything with the call of duty name on it gets massive hits, all you have to do is look at youtube to see that! Now the same thing has happened with the appstore and i was quite interested to see what these cheats would be

Well there isn’t any cheats what so ever, its more of a ebook or stat book. It has no cheats just usual information that you probably already knew, the layout is horrible as see above. Also when you select one of the “cheats” to look at you cant read the title on the main page or the next so its unclear at what your really looking at for some of them. One main example is hidden sniper positions, or “Hidden Sniper Positions…….”, now what map is that for?

Hmmm it also has easy level boosting, now that gets right on my nerves as i hate lame arses that level boost. Why play the game if you just want to sit in the corner of the map shooting at the same person for 10-15mins, lame

In all honesty the app is ok for a quick read, or laugh BUT if you have played call of duty for a while you will know everything that is in the app

AppReview – Toobz-Free Review

On January 12, 2010, in App review, by iPhoneRadar

Currently another free game that has made its way into the top25 in the UK, toobz-free. The goal is to create a system of pipes beginning at a ramdomly placed started point. Your network must allow water to flow without any spilling.

The free version offers you five levels and im struggling just to get past level 2. The game is simple yet addictive although i found the instructions not very clear, i didnt realise for a long time you could replace already put down sections by just pressing it again…. duh! All i want to do is get past level 2 which im sure will come if i play it a little more. This may actually be worth a purchase!

Let me know your scores!
