By the looks of this video which was London’s Regent Street I would say that we dont have to long before we hear that they are completely sold out. We were told that near enough every shop that had the iPhone in stock had massive lines outside with people desperate to get there hands on the new iPhone
I would say by the looks of things already the iPhone 4 is going to be in short supply for a good couple of months and the sales figures must be astronomical, surely this has overtaken all previous releases?
Today I rang O2 customer services inquiring about there early upgrade scheme and only available in store and it seems they are telling a few white lies. The customer services advisor said I could order the iPhone tomorrow over the phone and have it delivered when the website clearly states its only available in stores….. Naughty naughty
Only one downside to this though, they said I would have to pay £390!! Thats £300 to pay off the rest of my contract and £90 for the new phone, the contract remainder is set at a basic flat fee of £20 a month. So I have a fair few months left!
O2 have updated their website informing us that due to such demand and supply shortages they will only be offering the new iPhone to existing customers only. This kinda sucks if your not on O2 but what does suck even more is that if your working like most normal people, and you are an existing customer you can only go in store to get the new iPhone.
There has already been a massive demand for the new iPhone with pre-orders in America crashing websites causing them to cancel all pre-orders. I have sold my iPhone to O2 recycle in preparation for the release of the iPhone 4 but now I am left wondering if I have done the right thing as it seems if I dont get down the shop on the 24th June I may be waiting a long time to get my hands on one
If your like me currently on O2 and started your contract not to long ago then I am betting your a bit angry like I am that you have another year or so until an upgrade. Well dont be, O2 are offering a upgrade service with a one off fee to pay. Tell me how I can hear you all saying
Put in your contract end date and it will come up with a price (end date can be found in the my o2 app)
Now mine came up at £280 which is a hell of alot of money and kinda put me off, until I went to the O2 recycle and they will give me £235 for my 3GS. So I know what I’m going to be doing come June 24th!
Hope your all as pleased as me, if your not on O2 dont worry to much as its expected that the other companies will do exactly the same scheme
Over at modmyi they have reported that o2 have made a big mistake! Over the weekend many people noticed o2′s new tariff listings which included video call minutes. This caused rumours to spread as theories to come that this could possibly be for the new 4G iPhone.
After many people discovering the fact, and after o2 discovering this it was promptly removed from the website. O2 released a statement after stating
“The iPhone section of our website states video calling is charged at the same price as voice calls. We can confirm that this was listed in error. We will be amending our website shortly to clarify this.”
Hopefully these are confirmation of some of the new features of the iPhone, i dont know why i am getting excited i never used video chat on my old phones anyway!
