Apple Brings Us The Pentalobe

On January 23, 2011, in News, by iPhoneRadar

If you have recently sent your iPhone off to Apple for a repair or have bought yourself a nice new shiny iPhone then you may notice something a little different, in place of the normal screws in the bottom Apple are now replacing these with ‘Pentalobe’ screws. These are a new screw type invented by Apple to make it that little bit harder for us to tak apart our nice expensive iPhone’s, but dont you worry the guys over at ifixit have released the iPhone liberation kit. This will allow you to take out the two ‘Pentalobe’ screws with a provided screwdriver and also once finished repairing your iPhone you can replace them with the standard Phillips screws that we previously saw

You can buy the Pentalobe screwdriver from here
